About the Guide

About Erin

Nice to meet you! I’m Erin, and I’ve spent most of my life living in beautiful Alberta. I’m excited to be your guide as you discover the history, culture, joy and unsurpassed beauty of Banff and Canmore!
My first job working in tourism was 24 years ago, and I am now fortunate to have a full-time career in this industry! As an enthusiastic traveler, I have participated in hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of guided tours across the globe. I’ve taken the very best aspects of those experiences and used them to craft the ultimate walking tours of Banff and Canmore. I can’t wait to meet you and show you around this beautiful part of the world that I call home!

My Passion

Travel and tourism have always been my passion, and I truly enjoy every aspect of this vibrant industry! One of my favorite parts is connecting with people from all over the world. I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively throughout my life, and I always love discovering the shared experiences and bonds with people from near and far.
In addition to my travels, I have spent my time working in healthcare and at a post-secondary institution. However, after facing my own health challenge, I made the decision to fully embrace life. In June 2022, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was, without a doubt, one of the hardest and yet most transformative experiences of my life. While I would never wish such fear and uncertainty on anyone, it changed my whole perspective on life for the better!
During my recovery from my second mastectomy in May 2023, I realized how precious life really is, and I knew I had to seize every moment. In September of that year, my 16-year-old son and I embarked on a 10-month adventure around the world. We visited over 120 locations in 34 countries. My son “worldschooled” for his grade 11 year, completing his courses online. If you have any questions about our worldschool journey, please let me know as it was an incredible experience that I would love to share with anyone interested!
Although I’ve always had a passion for travel, it was during this world trip that I realized I wanted to dedicate myself fully to the tourism industry. And that’s when Rocky Mountain Food and Walking Tours was born!
